[An evening stroll for some fresh air outside the apartment reveals something a little bit different than what was expected, for Noelle. Lights, lights everywhere. On the trees, on the houses... it's like the village was suddenly lit up with several thousand fonstone lamps, like part of the Fon Belt itself had come down to illuminate the buildings.

She has to admit, she's a little confused. It seemed innocuous enough, yet so had those things at the top of their journals, a couple weeks ago. She flips open her journal]

Does anyone know what these lights are about? Are they another experiment?

Oh, do you not have Christmas where you come from?

It's a holiday and during the time of it, lots of people put out decorations like lights. They are really nice though, aren't they?

Yes, they are. I can't really tell where they're coming from though.

[Maybe it's the fontechist in her, but with this much light... there has to be some sort of mechanism, doesn't there...?]

[From where she is, she actually starts looking around herself to find them. ..yep, none. Weird.]

Well there are lots of strange things that happen here so... this could be one of them! People here can use magic, right?

[Sustaining light like that for so long, though, purely through magic? Perhaps it's something from a different world, then. Even on Auldrant, most lamps were created by heating fonstones until they glowed. You couldn't just make them appear out of nowhere and glow continually like that...]

Yep, it could be! My other guess was candles but... that sounds kinda dangerous, and I don't think they'd be able to glow this brightly if that were the case.

If you're curious, you could always get up close and try to examine them! [Yellow would try this out if it weren't for the fact that she's short. 8|]

I have actually, at least on some of the trees. [Which would be lower to the ground, since if game sprites are to be believed Noelle is shorter than Luke who... isn't that tall in the first place.]

It's just these... someone called them bulbs, I think? I'm not sure. On my world we just used lanterns or heated fonstones.

..Ohh. In that case, they're like light bulbs! Though the ones from my world need to be connected to something since they use electricity... [weird.] ...What are fonstones?

Admittedly, Noelle is fairly curious about the technical aspects of electric lightbulbs, but she'll answer the question first.]

They're special stones on my world, created when the Score was first read, which... probably doesn't make that much sense by itself. But they can be used in a variety of ways - for example, many lamps on Auldrant are actually heated fonstones.

What's the Score? But aside from that, I see! That sounds really cool. My world has special stones too, but they're not used for things like lighting or anything. [Just... evolving Pokémon.]
